The Ladies Like Armour Plating

"Thanks for the tank. He [Master Chief], never buys me anything." Cortana.
"Oh I know what the ladies like." Sergeant Johnson.

I have been converted to Halo 2. Don't anyone start to fret too much. I do the level called 'Metropolis' and it starts off with that gag. It then descends into the mayhem of me in a tank shooting the crap out of anything that moves (as Boy has found to his cost). I love the fact that all the characters have these wonderful lines. Further on into the level, one of the marines is panicking and he gets told: "Marine, did I give you permission to bitch?"

How sad am I?

Not at all actually. I had my first call review today. Which meant my lovely supervisor listened in on two of my live calls and one recorded one. The recorded one I chose. I chose my lovely gentleman from the early hours of Sunday evening. Halfway through the 11 min call she turned around and said I ought to have a medal, for being so polite and unflappable in the face of his obstructive and stroppy behaviour. I basked. Her only criticism was that after 5 minutes I should have called my Site Lead and got a nurse to take the call off my hands. Not too bad then. I'm really pleased. The review has done wonders for my confidence as I can see the progress I've made.

Now all I need to do is make some progress with my college work and I really will be smoking.

  1. That's the thing with Halo which puts it head & above other gaming tat - a thumping good story, characters and gameplay more addictive than crack.

  2. Yes, I only recently finished Halo recently, and was surprised at where it went :)
I'm aware of a decent amount of fan fiction set in the universe :)

Sounds like you sure are doing well at work, roses :)

How's the dissertation? :) (Or have I just said a naughty word? ;)

Ing - I just love the music. It's just great and suits the game to a T. And in all honesty, driving around in a tank and blowing things up is just great for stress relief. Though I think Boy is getting fed-up of doing the same level with me over and over again. Never having taken crack, I bow to your greater experience.

IM - If your into fan stuff, check out Britswitch, she's into that stuff in a big way. She knows all the weirdest sites.

Don't swear on this site it's not nice.

  4. See, i would never have uttered such a rude word in your presence.

Supervision can be a nerve-racking experience, i have some once every two months, under the banner of 'Professional Accountability' which always makes me squirm just seeing the title in my diary.

(Goes all gossipy) Ing and crack, never would have guessed...ooer!

  5. Dianne, that's because you're a classy lady. Unlike some here, not naming any names. And we aren't even going to mention my meeting with my supervisor tomorrow afternoon.

Actually, the call reviews aren't a bad process at all. They've got forms that the reviewer fills out, there is clear essential criteria to fill out which you've got to meet, and then the rest which you can fail at if the call goes pear-shaped. Easy peasy compared to your kind of supervision, where I'm sure there is the possiblility to end up with 'differences of professional opinion'.

Hmmm...Ing and crack. Given that he has a habit to uphold, do you think he's a crack 'ho'? :-)

  6. Now you mention it, I do rather think Ing used the term "televisual crack!" to me recently. It seems there are indeed a suspicious number of these occurrences! ;)

Roses: I'm not especially into it, I'm just aware there's a lot of it :) Which gives you some idea as to how many people enjoy it :)
I apologise most sincerely for swearing. It won't happen again.
Unless it does, in which case I apologise in advance ;)
Just to be on the safe side, I shall try to avoid asking about any important aspects of your life again ;)

I'm not sure if suggesting that a certain person isn't a "classy lady" is supposed to be bad thing? ;)

Hmm, I suppose if Ing is a "crack 'ho'", that may make him a Class A Lady?

Roses ~ oooooh i see, yeah yeah just kidding, he must be, of course.

    (whistles)

(Changes sides of face to g'faw at Roses for just one second)

"I'm not sure if suggesting that a certain person isn't a "classy lady" is supposed to be bad thing? ;)"

Isn't that just like saying, "Someone said you were not even good enough to mop the floor in Macdonalds, and i defended you and said you were"? ;~)

IM ~ "Hmm, I suppose if Ing is a "crack 'ho'", that may make him a Class A Lady?" *groan*, i think he missed it, or rose above it ;~)

I just love the word "g'faw" - how classy is that?!

Right, I'm off to College with bugger all to show my 'super', I must remember to pad my backside. At least I have done some reading, perhaps I'll be able to string several sentences together coherently.

I suspect Ing ignored our gentle jibes. Ing - you know we love you really.

At least he has a sense of humour, unlike some bloggers I've been reading. Perhaps it's those night shifts?

  11. As Francis Urquhart used to say in that great BBC series 'House of Cards':

"You may think that... I couldn't possibly comment."
